Ingredients
Potatoes 500 gms
Besan flour 250 gms
Green chillies 7-8 chillies(finely chopped)
Fresh green peas 1 cup
or (frozen)
Coriander 1 Sprig
Cashewnuts 50 gms
Oil for deep frying
Mustard seeds,urad dhal,channa dhal
Preparation
Steam the potatoes in pressure cooker peel the skin and mash and keep it aside. Now take a pan and season with some oil the mustard seeds,dhals, ginger bits, chopped green chillies,fresh peas and cashewnuts.Stir for a while till it turns golden yellow.Mix it with mashed potatoes required amt of salt and form a soft dough.Make small balls out of this dough. Prepare a batter of beasan flour with 2 tbs rice flour with enough salt using water and the batter should be of Dosa consistency.Dip the mashed potato balls in the batter and deep fry them in the oil till it turns golden yellow.The Aloo Bondas are ready.
The same is applicable when doing Bajjis.Vegatables like raw bananas,eggplant or brinjal,onions,ridge gourd.Even banana fruit can used in bajji.Children like it since it tastes sweet.Coconut chutney is the right choice as side dish.
