Ingredients
(Pesalu)meaning green gram 2 cup
Raw rice 2tbs
Green chillis 5or 6
Ginger 1 inch
Salt to taste
1 Large onion finely chopped
Green chillis,ginger and coriander,
finely chopped for garnish
Preparation
- Soak the green gram along with rice overnight or about 8 hrs
- Drain the water and grind to a smooth paste along with ginger and green chillies adding required amt of salt.This gets the name Pesarattu.
- The batter should be thick and of dropping consistency.Just to even out the batter whisk it for about 5 mins.
- Allow the batter to ferment.(optional).
- Take a pan and make dosa shaped Pesarattu and sprinkle oil and add finely chopped onions, green chillis and coriander on top of the Pesarattu when it is still wet and uncooked.It should be cooked on one side only.
- Then fold it like Dosa and serve with ginger chutney , coriander or mint chutney..
