- 2 cups Basmati rice
- 3 cups Water
- 2-3 Tbsp Ghee
- 2 Tbs Jeera
- 1 Inch of Cinnamon stick
- Few cashew-nuts
- 2 Large onions
- 2-3 Cloves
- Coarsely ground pepper
- 2-3 Cardamoms
- 2-3 Anistar pieces
- Salt to taste
- Soak the Basmati rice in water for 30 mins.
- At the same time , fry the onions in oil until crispy brown and keep aside.
- Now , add some Ghee to a pan and light fry the jeera until it splits ,then add Cinnamon , Cloves and Bay leaves ,Black Cardamom, Anistar, Cashews and Coarsely ground pepper .
- Add salt to taste.
- Lightly fry this mixture in low flame for 5 minutes.
- Drain the water from the basmati rice and add the fried mixture of spices to the basmati rice .
- Adding 3 cups of water , place them in a Rice cooker without the vent or an open vessel with a lid.
- Allow to cook for 20 minutes.
- After cooking the rice , Garnish with fried onions.
- The dish is ready to serve
