Vermicilli Kheer /Payasam

Ingredients

Vermicilli         1/2 cup
Ghee                 1 tbs
Whole milk      1 litre
(cream milk)
Cashewnuts     50 gms
Raisins             25 gms
Cardamom       1 tsp
(powdered)
Saffron             Few strands

Preparation

Take a heavy pan and fry the vermicilli in ghee till you get a nice aroma.Boil it with 1/2 cup of water and then add the whole milk and let the vermicilli cook in a slow flame. Add the sugar and keep
stirring continuosely till it forms a homogenous mixture with milk.Add the saffron strands,cardamom
powder,fried cashewnuts and raisins and add it to the Kheer.Now the Vremicilli Kheer is ready to be served.Transfer it a serving dish and garnish with Almonds add Pistachios.
