Akki Rotti

Akki Rotti is a Karnataka Recipe.This is a famous and a popular Breakfast in home across Karnataka.

Ingredients

Rice                              2 cups
Chopped onions           1 cup
Roasted peanuts            1 tbsp
Sesame seeds                1 tsp  
Jeera or cumin               2 tsp
Fresh grated coconut     1 cup
Coriander leaves            1 few finelychopped
Green chillies                2-3 finely chopped
Ginger                            1" finely chopped
Curry leaves                   few
Oil/ghee                         1 tbs
Salt to taste

Preparation

Mix rice flour with chopped onions,green chillies,ginger,fresh coconut gratings and other ingredients.Combine everything together and mix well.Add warm water to it slowly and keep kneading till you get a soft dough thick enough to hold in your hands.Smear oil in a plastic paper and place a small size ball of the dough in the centre of the plastic sheet and spread it with your fingers into a fairly large circle  on it. Heat a tawa and apply ghee or oil.Place the plastic paper with dough on to the tawa and cook on a low flame.Carefully peel off the plastic sheet.Cook on both sides.Now  the Akki Rotti is ready.Serve hot with coconut chutney.
