Cluster Beans Usili

Ingredients

Cluster beans or Green beans or Banna flower (vaazaipoo)
Any one of the veg     1/2 kg
Urad dhal                     2 tsps
Mustard seeds              1 tsp
Red chillies                   2
Curry leaves                  few
Oil for sesoning             1 tbs
Salt to taste

For dhal paste

Channa dhal                   1 cup
Thoovar dhal                  1 cup
Urad dhal                       2 tbs 
Red chillies                    4 or 5
Hing                                1/4 tsp
Salt as per taste

Preparation

Wash and cut the beans to a 1/2 centimeter size and cook it with enough salt and drain it.Soak the dhals for 1or 2 hours drain it and grind them to a coarse paste with dried red chillies and salt.Spread the dhal paste evenly on a greased tray and steam it in an Idly steamer or a pressure cooker for about 20 mins. Allow it to cool. Once cooled crumble the dhal paste with your fingers. Now heat 2 tbs of oil in a pan temper mustard seeds,red chillies and the hing along with curry leaves.Add the cooked beans with crumbled dhal and stir fry on a slow flame.Toss the mixture and reduce the heat.Now the Usili is ready to serve. Transfer it to serving dish.
