Badam Halwa

Ingredients

Badam                       1 cup
Milk                          1 cup
Ghee                         1/2 cup
Saffron                      few strands
Cardamom powder   1 tsp

Preparation

Soak  the almonds for 1/2 an hour or put it in hot water for 10 mins. Drain it and peel the skin and blend it with 1/2 cup of milk to a coarse paste like idly batter.Heat ghee in a non-stick kadai and add the almond paste.Cook over a slow flame stirring continuousely till the mixture turns golden yellow.Add the saffron and to make it more colorful you can add little bit of kesar. Boil the remaining  milk  with the  almond mixture and adding some more ghee stir continuousely to prevent sticking to the bottom of the kadai.Add sugar and mix  well till the sugar gets dissolved completely and keep stirring on a slow flame  till the halwa leaves the sides of the pan. Add the cardamom powder and mix well.(Make sure to keep stirring all the time. Do not stop even for a min because it can easily get burnt.) Now Awesome Badam Halwa is ready to serve.
