Rice Idly

Ingredients

Rice rawa (cream of rice) 2 cups
Urad dhal                        1cup
Salt to taste

Preparation

Soak the urad dhal and rice rawa separately for 4 hrs.Grind the urad dhal in a Grinder or Mixie to a smooth paste until it becomes thick and soft. The batter should be of dropping consistency.Drain the rice rawa completely and squeeze out the water and mix it well with urad dhal paste and make a soft batter by.adding salt.Let it ferment till the batter rises to a moon shape.  Heat the Idly steamer. Grease the idly plates and pour the batter and cook for 15 to 20 mns.If you are using pressure cooker you can keep the idly  plates witout using the weight.Now the Idlis are ready to eat. Side dish for this is coconut chutney and Onion Sambar.
