- Sago/ Sabudana - 2 Cups
- 1 Large onion
- Green chillies chopped 5 -6
- Mustard seeds, Urad dhal, channa dhal, asafoetida , curry leaves , red chillies for seasoning
- 3 tsps of roasted and powdered peanuts
- Salt to taste
- Grated coconut - Half cup
- 1/2 Squeezed lime
- Soak the sago/sabudana in water overnight and drain the water thoroughly.
- Add 2-3 tablespoons of oil into a pan and season with mustard seeds, urad dhal, channa dhal, cut green chillies, curry leaves , red chillies and asafoetida.
- Add salt as required
- Now, add the drained sago/sabudana to this mixture
- 3 tsps of roasted and fried peanuts[ground-nuts]to be added while frying the sago/sabudana,it gives flavour,protein and also reduces stikiness.
- Keep stirring for a few minutes. It gets cooked in approximately 5 minutes. Please use low flame for cooking
- Then add finely grated coconut .
- Squeezed lime [ Optional for taste]
- Now the Sabudana kichidi is ready to eat.

Your recipes are simple and easy to follow. one addition to Sabudana khichadi is 2 to 3 tsps of roasted peanut powder after adding sago to the seasoning, for flavour, protein and also it reduces stickiness.
