Ingredients
Potatoes 1 kg
Paneer 2 tbsp
Cashews 4-5 chopped
Raisins 1 tbsp
Green chillies 2--3 chopped finely
Sugar 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking and frying
For the gravy
Medium sized onions 2
Garlic crushed 3
Ginger crushed 1"
Tomatoes or puree 3 large
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
Sugar 2 tsp
Ground cashewnuts 1 tbs
Preparation
Boil the potatoes till tender.Peel mash and add salt and keep aside.Mix all the other ingredients for the kofta into a paste.Stuff the prepared mixture into the dough and shape them into balls.Seal the the edges and shape them into stuffed rounde.Deep fry each kofta till golden brown.
For the gravy
Boil the onions in water and drain the excess water cool and grind them to a paste.Heat oil in a pan add the bioled and ground onion paste and saute for 5 mins.Add ginger/garlic paste,green chillies,coriander powder,turmeric powder and salt.Saute for a min and add the tomato puree and red chilli powder and saute on a low medium flame till oil leaves the sides of the kadai.Mix mawa in 2 cups of water and add it to the gravy.Bring it to a boil for 10 mins stirring occationally.Add fresh cream and garam masala. Place the Malai Koftas in a serving dish and pour the gravy on top and serve.
