Mattar Paneer

Ingredients

Fresh green peas               2 cups
Paneer cubes                     1 cup
Large onion                       1
Ginger/garlic paste            1 tsp
Green chillies  (slit)           2
Tomato puree/sauce           2 tbs
Cinnamon sticks   1/2 "      2
Cardamom                          2-3
Cloves                                 2-3            
Bay leaves                          2-3
Cumin seeds                       1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder                1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder                1 tsp
Garam masala powder         1 tsp
Sugar                                    1 tsp
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves  finely chopped

Preparation

Cut the paneer into cubes.Heat oil ina pan and fry the panner until it becomes soft and light golden brown in color.Remve from heat and keep aside.Boil the peas in water with a pinch of salt and sugar.Heat oil in a large pan add bay leaves,whole garam masala(cardamom,cinnamon,clove) and cumin seeds.Now add the ginger/garlic paste with the grated onion.Saute until onion become golden brown.Keep adding turmeric powder,red chilli powder,coriander powder and little water.Now add salt,sugar and tomato puree and finally boil the peas.Stir continuousely for 5- 8 mins. Finally add the peas adding garam masala and cook on a low flame for 5-6 mins.When the currry becomes semi thick
remove from the heat.Serve hot with Chappathi, Poori and with plain rice.
