Sakkarai pongal

Ingredients

Rice                            1 cup
Moong dal                  4 tbs
1 milk                         1 cup
Water                          3 cups
Jaggery                       2 1/2 cups
Ghee                           1 cup
Cashewnuts                10-12
Raisins                       10-15 raisins
Cardamom powder    1tsp

Preparation

Rinse and wash the rice and moong dal in water drain it. Now heat a pan add 2 tsp of ghee and roast the rice and dal together and add 1cup of milk with 3 cups of  water and pressure cook it.Add enough
water to the jaggery and heat in a pan. When the jaggery dissolves completely remove from fire.Filter
it and bring it to one string consistency and add it to the cooked rice and dal.Stir for 5-10 mins so that the jaggery and rice blend together.Heat a pan and in 2 tsps of ghee fry cashew and raisins and cardamom powder it into the Sweet Sakkarai Pongal.
