Kodubele

Kodubele is an anytime snack of Karnataka

Ingredients

Rice flour                   1 cup
Hurikadale powder
           or
Pottukadale powder    1/4 cup
Fresh coconut              2 tbsp
Jeera                            1 tsp
Chilli powder               2 tsp
Hing                             1/4 tsp
Salt as per taste
Oil for deep fry

Preparation

Grind the coconut in mixie without adding water to make it a fine powder.Mix all the ingredients in a mixing bowl.Heat 2 tsp oil and it to the mixture add very little water and make a dough out of the mixture. Knead the dough to a chappati consistency.Pull out small balls from the dough and roll them
into strands of desired size with your hands.Moist your hands join one end to the other to form a circle
or a bangle shape.Heat oil in a kadai/pan.Drop the kodubeles into the oil and fry them in low medium flame.They are done when they turn golden brown in color.Repeat the procedure for the rest of the balls.It usually takes 5-10 mins.Remove from heat and spread them on a kitchen paper towel.Cool it and and store them in air tight containers.Now the Kodubeles are ready to eat.Serve with coffee or tea.
